a finely-wrought lamp

The lamp stands about eight feet tall and is wrought from copper. The metal has been tarnished to a pale green by years of rain and salty spray. Atop the lamp a single large, transparent crystal is held firmly in place. During the day the crystal refracts the sunlight that falls upon it, but at night it glows with a bright, clear white light. A curved panel on the landward side of the lamp is coated by a thin layer of untarnished gold-leaf to help project the light further out into the gulf.
